Conjola Community Association - List of AchievementsThe CCB has engaged with Shoalhaven City Council and other planning and regulatory bodies on the following matters:
• Lake Entrance & Estuary Management - input into a state-wide Dredging policy adopted by Shoalhaven City Council has successfully resulted in a grant from the NSW state government to dredge the entrance of the Lake - expected to be completed in Dec 2015 • Flood Plain Management - input into planning and policy documents • 2012 Infrastructure Priority Survey of Conjola District • Lobbying for repairs and upgrades to Lake Conjola Entrance Road, including the road through Lake Conjola Entrance Holiday Haven Caravan Park • Liaison with Shoalhaven City Council engineers to replace the boardwalk - a local Working Group is currently assisting with design which will support disabled access • Upgrades of boat ramps - Aney Street boat ramp upgrade completed; lobbying for Fisherman’s Paradise boat ramp upgrade • Upgrades and maintenance of walking tracks - e.g. grading of track to Buckley’s Beach • Lobbying for bus shelter at Fisherman’s Paradise • Liaison with NSW National Parks re fire management regimes; shore-bird management; general environmental issues regarding Pattimore’s Lagoon and other areas of environmental significance • Lobbying for recycling facilities in Holiday Haven Caravan Park • Review and advice to community on Development Applications; input into Shoalhaven City Council's development policies and planning system • The Conjola District Resilience Project - progressing a community adaptation plan to cope with extreme weather events, changes to climate and long-term support for community function, facilities and infrastructure 2015/16 - Channel Optimisation of the Lake Entrance 2017/18 - Detailed analysis and review of the outcome of the channel optimisation undertaken in 2015/16 - Replacement of the boardwalk with a world standard infrastructure - Lobbying for the development of a regional boat ramp at Conjola Park - Installation of a pontoon at the Fisherman's Paradise boatramp |
