Coastal Management Program - Dates for the Diary

Drop-in Information Session – 19th April 2021
Council would like to invite you to a drop-in information session on 19th of April 2021, from 4:00pm – 7:00pm at the Lake Conjola Community Centre to learn more about what to expect throughout Stage 2, as well as subsequent stages as we prepare the Lake Conjola CMP.
Risk Assessment Workshop - Tentatively scheduled for Mid – Late June
This workshop will present the findings of the Stage 2 modelling and coastal processes and will quantify the nature and extent of exposure to coastal hazards and threats to public and private assets (both natural and built). Community members will be asked to provide their thoughts and feedback on the modelling presented.

Following a "Request For Tender" process for a consultancy to lead the development of the Coastal Management Program (CMP) for Lake Conjola, Council have selected Royal HaskoningDHV as the prime consultant to undertake the development.
Royal Haskoning commenced work on Stage 2 of the CMP in February and in accordance with the NSW Coastal Management Act 2016 are currently collating data for input into the required technical studies, and are also preparing the engagement and consultation plans for the initial phases of work.
Information on the requirements for each stage of a CMP is available in the CMP Manual on the NSW Government Environment website
At this stage Council and Royal Haskoning expect an initial "drop-in" session with the community to occur in late March/early April
Council will also undertake letter drops to inform residents of the plan

Council Motion for an Long-Term Open Managed Entrance for Lake Conjola

At the Council Meeting on 28 Jan 2020, Council passed a motion to prepare a detailed, costed proposal/plan to undertake a stable, long-term opening of Lake Conjola. The fully worded motion is available in the Minutes of the Meeting, item CL20.17
