Published 24 January 2016
The following advice (email) has been received from Michael Strachan, Project Manager Shoalhaven City Council:
"Dear Elaine
As you may be aware, Council has received funding of $195,000 from the NSW Government’s Better Boating Program for improvements to boating infrastructure at Lake Conjola.
This funding is for:
1. Investigation and design into a new boat launching ramp facility at Havilland Street, West Conjola.
It is proposed that this project will involve:
This grant is aimed to get the project to a “shovel ready” status and eligible for construction funding before the next round of “Better Boating “ funding currently scheduled for consideration in 2017.
Subject to community support and receipt of additional funding, the project could be constructed in 2018/19.
2. Upgrade of the existing dirt boat ramp to a new concrete ramp at Aney Street, Lake Conjola.
This will involve the construction of a small single lane concrete boat launching ramp to formalise the existing gravel/dirt boat launching area.
It is proposed that a design will be undertaken and sent to the CCB for comment to allow construction this year.
3. Provision of a jetty structure at the Fisherman’s Paradise boat ramp, northern end of Lake Conjola.
This will involve the construction of a relative small 1.5 metre wide (wheelchair suitable) L shaped jetty on the Northern side of the existing ramp to assist with launching and retrieval (especially the elderly and the disabled)
It is proposed that a design will be undertaken and sent to the CCB for comment to allow construction this year.
I understand the next CCB meeting is next Monday 11th January 2016 and therefore it would be appreciated if this item could be considered at this meeting.
Please call me if you need to discuss .
